Although we did not know each other personally, you were the first rescue I had heard of growing up — a name spoken with reverence, admiration, and often awe. The Last Chance Cat Ranch was not just a rescue; it was a movement of compassion, built from your relentless heart. Your work reached far beyond the animals you saved — it touched countless lives, inspired future rescuers, and ignited a legacy that will continue long after today.

You gave everything to the cats no one else would take — the seniors, the sick, the forgotten. And in doing so, you gave them more than shelter. You gave them dignity, love, and a final chapter written with gentleness. You gave them hope.

The animal rescue world is a little dimmer without your light, but your fire still burns in all of us who do this work. You have left behind paw prints on this earth and on our hearts.

Thank you, Elizabeth, for showing us what it means to live fiercely, love endlessly, and fight for those with no voice.

Rest gently — we will carry it from here.
