Lyme Disease Prevention

‼️Did you know Wednesday‼️

🌿🐾 April is Prevention of Lyme Disease in Dogs Month 🐾🌿

As spring awakens, so do ticks—and with them, the risk of Lyme disease in our beloved dogs. 🐶💚 This month, we're raising awareness about how to protect your pets from this serious tick-borne illness.

🦠 What is Lyme Disease?

It’s caused by a bacterium carried by infected ticks, and it can lead to joint pain, fatigue, loss of appetite, and, in severe cases, kidney or neurological issues.

🛡️ How Can You Help Protect Your Dog?

✔️ Use vet-approved tick prevention products (topical, oral, or collars)

✔️ Check your dog thoroughly after walks, especially in wooded or grassy areas

✔️ Stick to clear trails & avoid tall brush

✔️ Talk to your vet about the Lyme vaccine if your dog is high-risk

✔️ Remove ticks safely and promptly

🌟 Early detection = better outcomes. If your dog shows signs of stiffness, limping, or low energy, don’t wait—call your vet.

Let’s keep our furry friends safe, happy, and healthy this spring! 🐕💛
