Wipe Those Paws!

  • Mar 24
  • 1 min read

Did you know that the salt and de-icing chemicals used on sidewalks and roads in the winter can be harmful to your pet’s paws? ❄️🚫

➡️ Irritation & Cracking – Salt and chemicals can cause dry, cracked, and sore paw pads, making walks uncomfortable.

➡️ Sharp & Painful – Some types of salt have jagged edges that can cause tiny cuts on paw pads, making irritation even worse.

➡️ Ingestion Risks – If your pet licks their paws after a walk, they might ingest harmful substances, leading to stomach upset or worse.

➡️ Licking & Chewing – When paws are irritated, dogs are likely to lick or chew the sore areas, which can worsen the irritation and lead to infections.

➡️ Ice Balls Between Toes – Snow and salt can cause painful ice buildup between paw pads, especially for dogs with long fur.

How to Protect Your Pet:

✔️ Wipe their paws with a damp cloth after every walk.

✔️ Use pet-safe paw balm before heading outside.

✔️ Consider dog booties for extra protection.

✔️ Choose pet-friendly de-icing products for your driveway and walkway.

Keep those paws safe this winter! 🐶🐾❄️
