At PAACT, our events are more than just gatherings - they are moments of connection, community, and compassion. Whether we are going to be at a market, assembling Frosty Paws shelters to protect stray cats in winter, distributing supplies through our Care Closet, or hosting heartfelt fundraisers for animals in need, every event is a chance to create real, meaningful change.
Proceeds from any and all events go directly to support local animals in need!

Volunteer Responsibilities

Welcome and greet community members dropping off donations

Coaldale Candy Parade
Saturday, August 8, 2026 | 10:00 AM
Location: Coaldale, Alberta
Volunteers Needed: 3 Community Volunteers or more
Volunteer Responsibilities

Walk alongside the PAACT parade entry

Hand out candy and other approved promotional items

Greet community members in a friendly and welcoming manner

Help promote awareness of PAACT's mission and community initiatives

Assist with parade staging and lineup before the event, as needed

Represent PAACT in a positive, professional, and enthusiastic manner
Ideal For
Volunteers who enjoy community events, are comfortable walking for the duration of the parade (3.5 km), and are enthusiastic about engaging with the public.

A PAACT T-shirt (required)
PAACT t-shirts are required for all parade participants to help ensure volunteers are easily identifiable and present a consistent, professional appearance throughout the event. PAACT may have t-shirts in stock for $15, depending on size availability. If your size is unavailable, shirts can be ordered for $25. Please contact the Executive Team as early as possible if you need to purchase a t-shirt prior to the parade.
Garage Sale Loading & Preparation
August 28, 2026 | Beginning After 3:00 PM
Location: Sentinel Storage – 36 Street North, Lethbridge
Support final preparations for our annual garage sale fundraiser by helping sort donations, organize supplies, and load the U-Haul.
Second Chances, Second Treasures Garage Sale Fundraiser
August 29, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Henderson Lake Park (Beside the Large Playground)
One of PAACT's largest annual fundraisers. Volunteers are needed for setup, event support, and cleanup throughout the day.
Volunteer Shifts Available:

Event Support: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Takedown & Cleanup: 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Volunteers may sign up for full-day, half-day, or individual shifts.

Together, we are building a future where more pets remain with the people who love them, families have access to the support they need, and every animal has the opportunity for a safe, loving life.
We are excited to be part of this year's parade—and we would love for you to join us!
We are looking for a few enthusiastic community volunteers to walk alongside our parade truck, hand out candy and PAACT stickers, and help us celebrate this incredible community while sharing PAACT's mission.

Event Update: Second Chances, Second Treasures Garage Sale Fundraiser
Due to a busy summer schedule for our core team, PAACT has made the decision to reschedule our annual garage sale fundraiser.
NEW DATE: Saturday, August 29, 2026
Location: Henderson Lake Park (beside the large playground)
Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
This fundraiser brings our community together to support local pets and the people who love them, helping create second chances through resources, education, advocacy, and compassionate support.
Community Volunteers Needed!
We are looking for volunteers to help with:
• Loading and event preparation on August 28 (after 3:00 PM)
• Morning setup (7:00 AM – 9:00 AM)
• Event support throughout the day (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
• Takedown and cleanup (4:30 PM – 7:30 PM)
No need to commit to the entire event—full-day, half-day, and single-shift volunteers are all welcome. Every hour of support helps make a meaningful difference!
Have Items to Donate?
We will still be hosting our Storage Locker Open House on Saturday, June 20, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at 2315 36 Street North.
Please note that the main gate will be locked. Simply look for a PAACT volunteer wearing PAACT apparel, and they will guide you to our storage locker.

Fall Bottle Drive!

Supporting local pets and the people who love them
Help turn your empties into lifesaving support for animals in our community. PAACT is hosting a city-wide bottle drive to raise funds for essential programs that keep pets safe, healthy, and at home during times of hardship.
Every bottle and can donated helps fund initiatives such as emergency foster support, the Care Closet, and community-based animal advocacy across Lethbridge.
Date: Tuesday, October 20th, 2026
Important Timing: Bottles must be out by 9:00 AM
Location: Within the City of Lethbridge only
How to Participate

• We will take care of the rest
